Good buy or not

Postby a-frame81 » Tue Mar 05, 2019 8:53 am

Hi All,

I've been away from Pathfinders for a while since I traded my 1998 R50 for a Jeep Cherokee. As the family has grown in number we're back looking for a bigger vehicle. O lived my old Pathfinder so thought I'd look at R51s.

I've found one nearby that might fit the bill, it a 2013 build with approx 185,000km and I believe it's an ST. What should I look for as we're keen for the next car to last 5 years + like the Jeep did and I want something reliable?

I have only had a quick look to confirm year model and kms, didn't have time to test drive or anything. I'll look for easy starting, smooth gear changes from teh auto etc, but wanted some tips on model specific issues that may pop up.

i can only talk about the V6 4.0l version....

Common problems.
L/H RR Door actuator
Timing Chain tensioner
Cat convertors x 4
Fuse relay under bonnet modifications
Nissan Towbar cracks
I have read , tailgate rusts

Good luck..once you get them right , they are great to drive.. but Very expensive to fix..
