Exhaust change....How difficult

Postby toymaz » Mon May 28, 2018 10:03 pm

Hi everyone
I have just noticed a small hole in my Muffler, so time for a 3" upgrade. Has anyone personally fitted theirs, and what sort of job is it time wise.
Not sure if it's worth paying extra for exhaust shop to fit.

I was told 2.5" works best on this car. Original supposed to be 2.25" but I have not bothered to measure as yet. Only done 55K since new and after putting in a chip and another one to switch EGR of I am done. Larger tyres were the best investment so far. I may look at some better shock that the EFS, at least for the front as the air bags are doing a great job at the back.
Exhaust is always hard to replace if you are on the ground. Everything is rusty and stuck from heat. I would pay someone.

Getting it over the rear diff (where the Nissan pipe is flattened) is meant to be a bugger

It's all pretty easy except if you have a DPF and you are removing it. Sensors and pressure tubes are a massive pain to remove. Just spray every bolt, nut and fitting with penetrating spray everyday for a week and you should be fine. OR just make it someone elses problem and pay them. Getting over the diff is fine, just a bit of twisting
