Millweld won't do anything other than Patrols - asked the same question only a few days back

If someone could design one the actual fabrication is the easy bit.

I have contemplated designing one for my R50 but it was just a lot of effort.

Cheers

Hey guys,

Haven't been around or posted for a while, yep that's mine.
Millweld did do it around the middle of last year. They don't do anything for the Pathfinder off the shelf, but pending on their workload, may be able to help you out if you leave your car with them. The rear bar came up well and I've been very happy with it. I didn't like any other alternative wheel carrier out there and liked the look of the one Mill has on his Patrol, so got it done custom just after having the long range automotive aux tank fitted. Whilst at it I got sliders and brush bars done at the same time. It wasn't exactly cheap, but not a hell of a lot more than the Kaymar which is just a carrier, not a complete solid replacement.

Cheers,
Michael

Cheers Wilsil - if I get my butt into gear, hopefully you should see it in 4x4 action - had a photo shoot for it last year, but for various reasons have not completed the paperwork etc ...

I asked Millweld again, using this as a reference and asked if they could refabricate. They basically said that was then, now they do not want to touch anything other than Patrols. Maybe they'd be more interested if there were 3 or 4 definately interested...anyone?
Its a shame - its certainly better looking than the OL or Kaymar, and still means I'm going to replace the damaged rear bumper before getting one fitted...

Yeah I could be interested in one of those depending on how much, a nice solid rear bar, it's a bit hard to get that made up here in Darwin.

Tried Millweld a third time and asked to buy the shop drawings.
A: "This was a custom bar which was built as you go so there is no drawing."

Time to visit Mr mbdishon with a tape measure and sketch pad I think!

Sounds like millweld wouldn't care if it was copied.

Depending on how complicated it is, it might be a matter of some laser cut plates of steel and then some welding.

Probably a bit of folding for a few sections to but nothing too complicated.

Who's up for a winter project????

I could make it if i had plans or someone to help me design it.

Cheers
